The National Innovation Initiative Spurs Immediate Job Creation And World-Changing Innovations

This is a proposal to President Obama. Our country, the United States, needs to create jobs! Our country has world-leading R&D facilities and scientists. We spend over $40B/year on this R&D. Our country has a plethora of small, nascent companies with great technology but many can not raise the required "go to market" capital needed to complete their prototypes, scale production and hire the right business people. Many just aren't $100M/year VC-plays or frankly the next Google. Many of them can spectacularly become solid 20 employee to 500 employee companies over the next decade if given the funds today.

Our proposed program solves this problem with a $1B investment by the Federal Government, with incentive-based private-sector oversight, to provide funds to 1000-2000 of these deserving companies. And with a kicker -- a unique loan financing program that not only drives future private-sector investment, but offers a return of capital.

Since mid-November, we have presented the National Innovation Initiative (NII) to various people within the Obama Administration (Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship), a few congressional offices, and technology transfer and entrepreneurship leaders. Our "Capital Hill" Voice is currently small. We are our own lobbyists and need more advocacy. President Obama talks about looking for great ideas. We are proud to present ours to you here.
